Accident with car and truck: both vehicles catch fire

TÜRKHEIM. On the evening of May 16, 2022, an accident occurred on the 2015 state road near Türkheim involving a 40-ton truck and a passenger car. For an unexplained reason, the 84-year-old passenger car driver left the road to the right and crashed into the truck without braking. The truck was parked next to the state road. First responders freed the man from the vehicle. Shortly afterwards, a fire broke out in the engine compartment of the car. When the emergency services arrived, the truck and car were on fire. The Türkheim fire department was able to bring the fire under control after a few seconds. The car was a total loss. The truck was at least no longer roadworthy. The damage is in the high five-digit range. The road had to be closed for several hours. The recovery of the vehicles is still ongoing. The person responsible for the accident was taken to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries. (PI Bad Wörishofen)
