A friend, a good friend | Comedian Singers | Hotel Regina

The concert of the "Comedian Singers" - "A friend, a good friend" (in Memoriam Gerry Hornek) took place open air under the arcades in the guest garden in the traditional house Hotel Regina - of Kremslehner Hotels - on Ringstraße in the 1st district in Vienna. Comedian Singers: Five singers and a pianist form the a capella formation Comedian Singers: Ivaylo Guberov, Thomas Markus, Georg Lehner, Jörg Westerkamp, Bernd Hemedinger, Michael Roth (piano). In the style of the famous singing ensemble "Comedian Harmonists" of the 1920s/30s they bring evergreens like "Mein kleiner grüner Kaktus", "Ein Freund, ein guter Freund", "Veronika, der Lenz ist da", "Irgendwo auf der Welt" and many more to the stage. It is a special concern of the ensemble members of the Comedian Singers to preserve a piece of European cultural and musical history and to open it up and pass it on in the form of "old" Schlager and light music, for every age group. The "Comedian Singers" already celebrated their first successes in September 2010, when they sang and performed in the castle courtyard as part of the Herbstklang Wolkersdorf cultural festival, in the musical theater piece "The Comedian Harmonists" (by Gottfried Greiffenhagen and Franz Wittenbrink), and told the story of the success and decline of the Comedian Harmonists. Since then they played several concerts and their success continues. Background of the concert: our long-time friend and loyal companion of the club, Gerry Hornek, passed away suddenly in 2018. KLUB ALSERGRUND - Cultural Association dedicates this concert to him. He would have loved it.
