The German handball players have won their opening match at the World Cup in Egypt. The team of national coach Alfred Gislason defeated outsider Uruguay with 43:14 (16:4) and thus celebrated a perfect tournament start. DHB Vice President Bob Hanning was surprised by the poor fitness of the opponent.
