The first series-produced BMW i4 has today rolled off the production lines at BMW Group Plant Munich. The company’s home plant now manufactures all drive variants on a single assembly line. “For the plant and team, the launch of the BMW i4 is a milestone on the road to electric mobility,” said Milan Nedeljković, BMW AG Board Member for Production. “By 2023 more than half of all vehicles from our Munich facility will have an electrified drive. The majority will be fully electric. So Munich goes fully electric.” Setting up production of the fully electric BMW i4 in the confines of the almost 100-year-old plant, the conversion and installation of systems proved particularly challenging. “We succeeded in integrating the new vehicle into our existing systems without halting production. The team and our partners did an amazing job,” added Peter Weber, Director of BMW Group Plant Munich. Space constraints notwithstanding, existing systems were removed, and new ones installed and ramped up. “Our bodyshop is a shining example of intelligent, efficient integration. Most of the new production processes for the BMW i4 can be carried out on the existing bodyshop systems,” Weber explained.

The first model of the New Class will be produced at the newly built BMW Group plant in Debrecen, Hungary. The all-electric SAV will roll off the production line there in autumn 2025 as the BMW iX3 50 xDrive with an output of 345 kW/469 hp and electric all-wheel drive. Further all-electric drive variants will follow, including an entry-level model. The market launch of the new BMW iX3 will begin in spring 2026 in Europe and in summer 2026 in the USA. Deliveries of a variant of the new BMW iX3, manufactured at the Shenyang production site and specifically tailored to the wishes and needs of customers in China, will also begin in summer 2026. Compared to its predecessor of the same name, the new BMW iX3 represents a leap in development that goes far beyond a conventional model change. The advances in design and technology give the impression of skipping an entire vehicle generation. For the BMW Group, the launch of the new BMW iX3 also marks a milestone in the transformation process in the areas of electrification, digitalization, and circularity. As the spearhead of the New Class, it offers the latest design and technology innovations that will shape the brand's entire model range in the future. By 2027, the technologies of the New Class will be integrated into a total of 40 new models and model updates.

The new Maserati Grecale SUV is “The Everyday Exceptional”. These features are combined with off-road capabilities and uncompromising driving pleasure. Developed at the Maserati Innovation Lab in Modena, the new SUV is produced at the Cassino plant. Grecale is a range within the range, the Trident brand’s fullest ever. An extremely wide range of engines is available: conventional internal combustion, hybrid and, in a year’s time, Grecale will also be the first full-electric SUV in Maserati history. Three versions will be rolled out at launch: GT, powered by a four-cylinder mild hybrid engine capable of delivering 300 hp; Modena, with a four-cylinder 330-hp mild hybrid engine; and the powerful Trofeo, equipped with a high-performance 3.0L 530-hp petrol V6 based on the Nettuno engine fitted to the MC20.
