The BMW Group plant in Leipzig remains electrified: Four months after the start of production of the MINI Countryman with combustion engines, the fully electric models are rolling off the line in Leipzig. After the discontinuation of the BMW i3, the birthplace of electromobility at the BMW Group once again has a fully electric vehicle in its lineup. Four models with three drives from two brands are now being produced on one production line: the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer (also available as a plug-in hybrid), the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, and the MINI Countryman with full electric and conventional drive. The MINI Countryman Electric is an important step for MINI on the path to becoming an all-electric brand by 2030. It combines electrified go-kart feeling with locally emission-free mobility. With a purely electric drive, the vehicle is available in the Countryman E version as well as with increased power and all-wheel drive as the Countryman SE ALL4.
