Several storm cells hit the Allgäu on Thursday afternoon. Oberstdorf and Immenstadt were hit particularly hard. But there was also a heavy hailstorm in Thanners near Immenstadt. A dealer for mobile homes and caravans was hit particularly hard. Around 160 vehicles were partially damaged on all sides by the hail. "We were hit by a heavy hailstorm. The hailstones were 1-2cm in size and hit almost all sides of our vehicles," says Managing Director Hans-Peter Neuss. A disaster Within a very short time, the exhibition area was transformed into a lake of water and ice. "It was a disaster for the vehicles on the site," said the 38-year-old. "You just stand helplessly behind the pane and can only watch. You would love to throw a blanket on the vehicles, but unfortunately that's not possible," continued Hans-Peter Neuss. 160 vehicles damaged Within minutes, all of the 160 vehicles on the site were hit and damaged by hailstones. It is not yet possible to say how high the damage actually is. "Due to the rain, we can't yet say how extensive the damage is. But we're assuming between €300,000 and €400,000," says Neuss. It's a blessing in disguise that the insurance covers the damage to the vehicles After all, you now have to search each of the 160 vehicles dent by dent and draw up an expert opinion. Emotional Conversations But even if the damage is covered by insurance, discussions with customers are sometimes very emotional. "The vehicles that are still for sale in the yard are now probably being reduced or repaired. With the vehicles that have already been sold and are waiting for delivery, emotional discussions are currently taking place in some cases because the customers were simply looking forward to their vehicle ", says managing director Hans-Peter Neuss
