Ferrari Roma Tailor Made - The Design

Source: AutoMotoTV (Glomex)

The Roma's color scheme was inspired by traditional Japanese indigo colours, particularly the rich blue exterior which was specially developed for this car and christened Indigo Metal. This vibrant color underscores the Roma's pure forms - the light seems to flow over the bodywork, emphasizing its lines with light and shadow. Indigo is used a lot in Japanese design and the traditional color is made from natural materials. COOL HUNTING visited Toyama, one of only five remaining indigo farms in Tokushima, the traditional indigo region of Japan. There they learned that the color is derived from a green plant that, after harvesting and fermentation, becomes sukumo, traditional dried Japanese indigo that is mixed with lye, sake, and limestone powder to create the authentic Hon-Ai indigo color. Traditionally used in sheets, bedding and clothing due to its antimicrobial properties. The same color palette is now used to bring the vehicle's exterior and interior together into a subtle whole. The indigo hue is also found in the sakiori fabric used for the seat covers and carpets
