Volkswagen ID.5 and ID.5 GTX - surface light guides in the rear lights and intelligent interior lighting

The innovative 3D LED rear lights shine at the rear of the ID.5 (standard on the ID.5 GTX, in the design package on the Pro and Pro Performance) connected by an LED light strip (standard on all models). In each unit, nine surface light guides, which are made up of several thin layers, stand freely in space; they create an arc-shaped tail light in a particularly rich red tone. The brake light lights up in the shape of an X, the dynamic turn signals build up from the inside to the outside. In vehicles equipped with LED matrix headlights, dynamic animations run in the rear lights to greet and say goodbye to the driver. The driver can choose between different animations via the menu in the HMI. The lighting architecture of the ID.5 is designed holistically and also plays an important role in the interior. Ambient light on the dashboard and in the doors can be configured in many colors as desired: The ID.5 has 10 colors (30 colors are optionally available), and the sporty top model ID.5 GTX1 has 30 colors as standard.
