After more than 70 years of designing, engineering and manufacturing two-door sports cars, Lotus is moving into a new era of automotive creativity. In Spring 2022 Lotus will give a world premiere to a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), the first in a range of lifestyle vehicles that will go on sale in all major markets around the world. Each will be pure electric and reinvent the core DNA of Lotus in a thrilling new way, delivering the very best in beautiful design, class-leading ride and handling, advanced materials and optimised motorsport-inspired aerodynamics. In the run-up to the Guangzhou Auto Show in November, Lotus released four short films previewing some of the exciting features of the SUV. Called Breathe, See, Stretch and Awaken, they revealed a tantalising glimpse of what is to come. You can see full details below. At the moment this exciting new model is known only by its Lotus Type number – the Type 132. In the coming weeks we will reveal its model name and further details about its design, performance and features. It is the next significant step in the ongoing transformation of Lotus from a UK sports car company to a truly global performance car business and brand.

Its SUV elements and benefits combined with a lower profile means that Volvo Cars also enters a new segment – and it does so with cutting-edge design and features not previously seen on Volvo cars. Built upon the fundamental building blocks of the XC40, the C40 gives the same sense of power and strong character as its sibling while adding athleticism and lightness. This idea of breaking new ground with something familiar is mirrored in individual details: the signature Thor’s Hammer headlights are augmented with new pixel LEDs, which automatically adjust to light conditions and switch on and off independently to optimise the light pattern. The equally emblematic vertical rear lights are now segmented, providing a testament to the engineering challenge of extending one big lamp along the roof line, while also creating a modern take on a classic design.

Suzuki has launched the new Swace, a stylish and versatile wagon with an athletic design that offers a smooth and stable ride and advanced hybrid behavior. The Swace is the second Toyota Motor Corporation vehicle that Suzuki will market under the commercial collaboration agreement between the two companies. Its sale will begin in Europe this winter.
