BMW Group is providing fresh impetus with two innovative micromobility concepts for emission-free urban mobility, intelligently rethought for increased sustainability in urban traffic. These concepts are being implemented in collaboration with partner companies CUBE and SoFlow. Official communication of the licenses granted by the BMW Group to the two partners will be made during Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA) Mobility 2021, which takes place from 7th to 12th September in Munich. The CUBE Concept Dynamic Cargo inspired by BMW is a compact, three-wheeled cargo bike concept that combines high agility with flexible usage options and increased year-round suitability. It also boasts a variable-use loading platform with innovative attachments for transporting loads and/or children as well as for leisure activities.

The updated Trafic also impresses with its further optimized functionality. This is evidenced by details such as the electrically folding exterior mirrors and a large number of storage spaces in the interior. Thanks to new storage compartments and storage areas, the new best-in-class value of up to 88 liters of storage space is now available in the interior, 54 liters of which are under the passenger seat alone. As part of the facelift, Renault is also equipping the Trafic with the EASY LINK online multimedia and navigation system. The system is extremely user-friendly and has an 8.0-inch (20.3-centimeter) touchscreen and enables smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The updated Trafic also marks a major step forward in terms of driver assistance systems. The adaptive cruise control, high beam assistant, lane departure warning and blind spot warning will be available for the transporter in the future. Another new feature for the model is traffic sign recognition with a speed warning. The trailer stability control, front, rear and side parking aids as well as the reversing camera complete the list of assistance systems. Four economical and high-torque turbo diesel engines are available for the Trafic, covering the power range from 110 to 170 hp and meeting the criteria of the Euro 6d-Full emissions standard. All four engines have automatic start-stop and are combined with the manual switch box. The Blue dCi 150 and Blue dCi 170 are also optionally available with the EDC dual clutch transmission.

Efficient, emotive and electrifying – these attributes neatly sum up the ENYAQ iV. In launching its first all-electric SUV, the Czech car manufacturer has taken the biggest step yet in its electromobility strategy. The new ENYAQ iV is the first ŠKODA production model to be based on Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular electric car platform. It is built at ŠKODA’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav, making it the only MEB-based model in Europe to be manufactured outside of Germany. ŠKODA’s new flagship boasts generous amounts of space as is typical of the brand, and – thanks to its emotive design language – its appearance is electrifying too. Inside, new Design Selections replace the classic trim levels, while a clear and new structure of the options available means the car can be configured with just a few clicks. The ENYAQ iV comes with rear- or all-wheel drive, and there are five power levels and three battery sizes to choose from. The range of more than 520 km in the WLTP cycle is perfectly suitable for travelling long distances. The car will be launched in the spring of 2021.

Customers’ driving habits can remain unchanged, and they can enjoy a genuine hybrid experience with the possibility of going into full-electric mode during parking and low-speed driving thanks to the “EV capabilities”. Let’s take a closer look at how these functions work during everyday use. First off, once in the vehicle, it silently turns on and takes off in full electric mode thanks to its Silent Start function. However, this is just one of the “EV” functions that automatically turns on in the Renegade and Compass e-Hybrid. For example, Energy Recovery switches on by itself in order to get the energy back which was lost during the stages of deceleration or braking. In the former case, the e-Coasting mode activates as soon as you take your foot off the gas in order to reproduce the sensation of engine braking.
