Bugatti fundamentally revises the 8.0-liter W16 engine for the Chiron Super Sport, increasing output by 100 hp to 1,176 kW/1,600 hp. At the same time, the weight of the vehicle is reduced by 23 kilograms. The engineers have also modified the turbocharger, oil pump and cylinder head with valve train, as well as the transmission and clutch. For noticeably more agility, the engine now revs 300 rpm higher up to 7,100 rpm. 1,600 Newton meters of torque are now available from 2,000 to 7,000 rpm instead of up to 6,000 rpm. As a result of the increased power, caused among other things by larger turbochargers with more efficient compressor wheels, the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission does not shift from sixth to seventh gear under full load and full acceleration until 403 km/h. The engine is now capable of accelerating from 0 to 200 km/h (62 mph). The Chiron Super Sport accelerates from 0 to 200 km/h in 5.8 seconds, to 300 km/h in 12.1 seconds. From 0 to 400 km/h, the Chiron Super Sport accelerates seven percent faster than a Chiron. The seventh gear is translated 3.6 percent longer.
