Genesis has opened the order books in the UK for the new all-electric GV60, its first dedicated electric platform-based vehicle, arriving later this year. Pricing for the UK will start from £47,005. A dedicated Genesis Personal Assistant will then be on hand once on sale to go through the final stages of configuration and then through to purchase. GV60 is the brand’s first electric car available in the UK and is based on the dedicated E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) fully electric platform, marking Genesis’s first step on the road towards electrification. By 2025, all new models from Genesis will be electric and it is the brand’s ambition to reach net carbon zero by 2035.

Development laboratories at Volkswagen in Salzgitter - Next Generation battery cells - Robustness and Safety Lab

Volkswagen Group Components has opened one of the most modern laboratories for cell research and development in Europe in Salzgitter, Germany. Thus, the global Volkswagen Group is further expanding its expertise in battery technology and taking the next step towards developing and producing its own battery cells for electric vehicles. From 2025 onwards, the Volkswagen unified cell is scheduled to roll off the production line in Salzgitter. In the future, around 250 experts will conduct research in the areas of cell development, analytics and testing in a total of four laboratories. The Group is investing some 70 million euros in the facilities. The new unified cell for the volume segment is scheduled to roll off the production line at the Gigafactory in Salzgitter from 2025. By 2030, the Volkswagen Group plans to operate six cell factories in Europe together with partners with a production capacity of 240 GWh. Prospectively, cells with an annual capacity of 40 GWh could be produced in Salzgitter. The new unified cell is expected to unlock synergies and reduce battery costs by up to 50 percent.

The new competition package is bursting with extras that both sharpen the cars’ appearance and make for a more emotional driving experience. With its optional coilover suspension (RS sport suspension pro), the competition plus package boasts a maximum in dynamics and driving fun while not compromising its top suitability for everyday use. Sometimes less is more: Reduced insulation between the engine compartment and the interior means the RS 4 Avant and RS 5 will thrill customers with an exciting, next-level sound experience. The potent biturbo V6 has 331 kW (450 PS) of power and a torque of 600 newton meters from 1,900 to 5,000 rpm4. The Audi RS 4 Avant and RS 5 with the competition packages will be available from dealers starting July. Prices start at 7.875 euros for the competition package and 11,875 euros for the competition plus package.
