A number of new technologies optimize the precision and control of the chassis in a wide variety of weather and road conditions. The standard electronic damper control (Electronic Control Suspension, ECS) in the GT-line version increases comfort and safety thanks to the continuous damping control. The system reacts to body movements and steering inputs and changes the damping behavior at lightning speed in order to counteract the vehicle's diving, pitching and rolling movements when cornering. It also adjusts the damping force in the case of obstacles in order to cope with them as comfortably as possible and to reduce the influence of post-vibrations on the wheels. A premiere for the Sportage is the “All-Terrain-Mode”, which will be available for the plug-in hybrid version with all-wheel drive. The system offers intelligent support when driving off-road or on snow by automatically optimizing the vehicle settings depending on the selected mode and thus helping the SUV to achieve maximum traction on muddy, sandy or snowy surfaces.
The new OCTAVIA SCOUT - The exterior design
The OCTAVIA SCOUT has numerous high-quality equipment features. These include, for example, matrix LED headlights with adaptive front headlights, dual-zone Climatronic, the KESSY keyless access and start-stop system, and front and rear parking sensors. ŠKODA has designed the rear lights in a crystal glass look with animated turn signals. Also on board: heated front seats, LED ambient lighting and a heated multifunction steering wheel - in the 4x4 version, this also has shift paddles for the direct shift gearbox. The standard driving profile selection also features an off-road mode on the diesel variant.
Thanks to the new e-Hybrid propulsion system, Renegade and Compass offer a brand-new alternative in the two-wheel drive segment. Customers’ driving habits can remain unchanged, and they can enjoy a genuine hybrid experience with the possibility of going into full-electric mode during parking and low-speed driving thanks to the “EV capabilities”. Let’s take a closer look at how these functions work during everyday use. First off, once in the vehicle, it silently turns on and takes off in full electric mode thanks to its Silent Start function. However, this is just one of the “EV” functions that automatically turns on in the Renegade and Compass e-Hybrid. For example, Energy Recovery switches on by itself in order to get the energy back which was lost during the stages of deceleration or braking. In the former case, the e-Coasting mode activates as soon as you take your foot off the gas in order to reproduce the sensation of engine braking.
Its 471 kW four-litre biturbo V8 provides the basis for superb driving characteristics. With 67 kW (90 PS) more than the Cayenne Turbo Coupé and maximum torque of 850 Nm (an increase of 80 Nm), the 0-100 km/h sprint is reduced to 3.3 seconds (0.6 s less) and top speed is now 300 km/h (an increase of 14 km/h). With even sportier lines and available exclusively as a four-seater Coupé, the Cayenne Turbo GT comes with all available chassis systems fitted as standard and performance tyres developed specially for this model. The powertrain and chassis also have a unique set-up specifically tuned for the Cayenne Turbo GT. The result is a harmonious overall concept with superb racetrack capability. This has been proven by Porsche test driver Lars Kern, who lapped the 20.832 km Nürburgring Nordschleife with the Cayenne Turbo GT in a time of 7:38.9 minutes, setting a new official SUV record.
