The new model line’s assistance systems perfect ease of driving and safety. Included as standard in the ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo is the ‘Car2X’ local warning system, which utilises signals from other vehicles and the transport infrastructure to spot hazards in real time. Also included as standard: the ‘Front Assist’ emergency braking function and, in the MPV, the ‘Lane Assist’ lane-keeping assistant. With new software, new assistance functions are also making their way into the ID. family. Available as an option is ‘Travel Assist with swarm data’, which facilitates partially automated driving across the entire speed range and, for the first time, assisted lane-changing on the motorway. Also new: the ‘Memory Function’ for automated parking on a previously saved route.
SKODA ENYAQ iV Design Selection LOFT
With the new ENYAQ iV, ŠKODA AUTO is also launching a clear new product range structure and an innovative interior concept as it enters the era of electric mobility. The first ŠKODA model based on the Volkswagen Group’s modular electrification toolkit (MEB) offers customisable Design Selections for the interior. The optional Design Selections are oriented towards modern living environments and extend the existing equipment lines. The colours and materials are perfectly coordinated. In the following interview, Kateřina Vránová, Head of Colour & Trim Design at ŠKODA AUTO and her colleague Stefan Webelhorst, talk about the selection of materials, many of which are natural, sustainably processed or recycled, and demonstrate in a video how easy it is to configure the new ŠKODA ENYAQ iV in just six steps.
The Tiguan was given an update back in autumn 2020 and now it is the turn of the long-wheelbase version: revised design, new control and assist systems, new premium features such as interactive IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights and touch panels to control the standard automatic air conditioner take the Tiguan Allspace to the next level. Currently, more than every second Tiguan (55 percent) that rolls off the production line worldwide has a long wheelbase. The XL version of the Tiguan Allspace can, upon request, be fitted to become an SUV with seven seats or boast 1,920 litres of storage space. Pre-sales start in the next few weeks. In Germany, it is available in the new specification packages Life, Elegance and R-Line.
The Group will make the best of its dedicated EV platforms, launching 10 new battery-electric vehicles by 2025, seven of them for the Renault brand. The iconic Renault 5 with a modern and electric twist will be made in Northern France, from battery to e-powertrain to assembly, on the brand-new CMF-BEV platform, by Renault ElectriCity. The Group will also revive another iconic star, currently named 4ever, signifying the intention to make it a timeless classic. Renault Group will also strengthen its presence in the all-electric C-segment, firstly with the All-New MéganE in 2022, while the Alpine “dream garage” unveiled in January will become a reality, starting in 2024. The Group aims at providing the greenest mix in the European market in 2025, with more than 65 per cent of vehicles in the sales mix electric and electrified, and up to 90 per cent battery electric vehicles in the Renault brand mix in 2030.
