“The most beautiful car I have ever drawn.” Marc Lichte, Head of Audi Design, chose these words in the fall of 2018, when the brand presented the Audi e-tron GT concept as a show car in Los Angeles. Two years later, the first fully electric gran turismo from Audi is about to celebrate its premiere as a series production model.
Additional all-wheel-drive model variant for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé
The extra traction, driving stability and sportiness associated with intelligent all-wheel drive can be experienced in a further model variant of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé from March 2021. In the new BMW 220i xDrive Gran Coupé, the power of a 131 kW/178 hp four-cylinder gasoline engine is distributed between the front and rear wheels as needed. An 8-speed Steptronic transmission is also involved in the power transmission. With this drive technology, the new BMW 220i xDrive Gran Coupé accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. The range of optional extras for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé will be expanded to include more alloy wheels in spring 2021. New additions to the range are 18-inch M light-alloy wheels in Y-spoke design and bicolor finish.
Ford announced that, for the first time in Europe, orders are open for the Ford Mustang Mach-EGT, the most exciting version of the company's new all-electric SUV. The propulsion has more torque than any other road vehicle ever produced by Ford for European customers and the Mustang Mach-EGT is the Blue Oval's five-seater car with the highest acceleration: it is capable of shifting 0 to 100km / h (0-62mph) in just 3.7 seconds1. The dual-engine all-wheel drive with electric power, the futuristic MagneRide®2 adaptive suspension and the high-performance Brembo braking system allow you to combine sports car response with extreme agility. The Mustang MachEGT also boasts a unique traction calibration which, compared to the other four-wheel drive variants of the model, engages a greater percentage of torque at the rear axle.
The first performance hybrid from Mercedes-AMG is entering series production and draws on technologies from Formula 1. The concept includes a distinctive drive layout with electric motor and battery on the rear axle as well as a high-performance battery developed in-house. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE combines superior performance and impressive driving dynamics with maximum efficiency thanks to its special powertrain. The E PERFORMANCE model thus transfers the DNA of AMG Driving Performance into the electrified future. The combination of 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine and electric motor generates a system output of 620 kW (843 hp) and a maximum system torque of more than 1,400 Nm. The electric drive's immediate response at the rear axle, rapid torque build-up and improved weight distribution make for a new, highly dynamic driving experience. As in Formula 1, the battery is specifically designed for fast power delivery and draw. The electric range of 12 kilometres allows a practical operating radius, for example in the city or in residential areas. Mercedes-AMG is breaking new ground in communication on electrification together with brand ambassador will.i.am: The world-famous musician and multiple Grammy Award winner is the protagonist of the marketing campaign "Everything but quiet". He not only contributed to the concept, but also wrote an exclusive song for the release video.
