2021 Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon 392 - Top performance and plenty of torque

Source: AutoMotoTV (Glomex)

With the introduction of the 6.4 V8, for the first time an eight-cylinder engine is available as a factory option for the Wrangler. The V8 was adapted to fit under the hood of the Wrangler Rubicon 392, where it delivers 346 kW (470 hp) and 637 Newton meters of torque. Almost 75 percent of the torque is available just above idle speed. This results in exciting performance figures, regardless of whether the Wrangler Rubicon 392 accelerates from a standstill to 96 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds or crawls up steep inclines. The 6.4 V8 is built on a cast iron block with aluminum cylinder heads. Performance as well as thermal resistance is provided by an active intake manifold, variable camshaft control, two spark plugs per cylinder, sodium-filled exhaust valves, hollow shaft inlet valves and oil-spray cooling for the piston heads. If only a small amount of power is needed to keep up with everyday traffic, a shut-off device for four of the eight cylinders ensures lower fuel consumption.
