When developing the new Mirai, Toyota optimized every aspect of the vehicle so that it appeals to customers emotionally - in terms of power delivery and performance as well as the way the car drives and looks. The declared goal was to increase the range compared to the first generation to a level that exceeds most purely battery-electric cars. To achieve this, the engine output and the capacity of the hydrogen tanks increased, as did aerodynamic efficiency. The result: a 30 percent larger radius of action that now reaches a good 650 kilometers. This means that the Mirai is now finally moving up into the long-haul vehicle class. Toyota has devoted itself equally intensively to the room layout. The modular GA-L platform, which serves as the basis for the new Mirai, enables considerably more effective packaging. In favor of a more balanced arrangement of the new FCEV drive train, the fuel cell unit has now moved under the hood. In this way, it clears the way for a larger interior space that can now accommodate five passengers.
Update for the Audi Q2 - LED or Matrix LED headlights
"LED headlights are now standard in the Audi Q2, optional the Matrix LED headlights are available. Seven single LEDs, which are located in a common module, emit an intelligently controlled high beam. It always illuminates the road as bright as possible without dazzling other road users. Ten light-emitting diodes located behind diamond-shaped optics generate the daytime running light, while seven additional LEDs generate the dynamic flashing light. For the rear lights, customers can choose between two LED options - with or without dynamic flashing light. If the Matrix LED headlights are on board, the dynamic indicator is also standard in the rear. In addition, when the car is unlocked and locked, lighting effects in the headlights and combination rearlights draw attention to the new Q2".

The new model line’s assistance systems perfect ease of driving and safety. Included as standard in the ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo is the ‘Car2X’ local warning system, which utilises signals from other vehicles and the transport infrastructure to spot hazards in real time. Also included as standard: the ‘Front Assist’ emergency braking function and, in the MPV, the ‘Lane Assist’ lane-keeping assistant. With new software, new assistance functions are also making their way into the ID. family. Available as an option is ‘Travel Assist with swarm data’, which facilitates partially automated driving across the entire speed range and, for the first time, assisted lane-changing on the motorway. Also new: the ‘Memory Function’ for automated parking on a previously saved route.
