Jaguar Classic is bringing a strictly limited run of new C-type Continuations to life in celebration of the iconic model’s motorsport heritage, 70 years after it first raced to victory at the Le Mans 24 Hours. The landmark vehicle will make its public debut at the prestigious Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace on Friday 3 September. The C-type Continuation will be hand built at Jaguar Classic Works in Coventry, to the specification of the 1953 ‘works’ C-types that dominated that year’s Le Mans 24 Hours, scoring the C-type’s second Le Mans win and continuing a run of motorsport success for the company. The team at Jaguar Classic has painstakingly researched the C-type’s history for the Continuation’s exacting specification, bringing Jaguar’s heritage to life through modern technology and engineering expertise. This includes the use of the same authentic techniques and build methods as in period.
Maserati Trofeo collection
Ghibli and Quattroporte will be available in the Trofeo version, the top of the Maserati range. The brand’s trident – performance, style and flawless handling – honed to perfection. They will boast the same distinguishing features, remaining true to their original identities – sedans according to Maserati – but in a superlative new expression. They are to the previous versions what Flash is to Barry Allen, what Batman is to Bruce Wayne or Superman to Clark Kent. No capes or lasers beaming from the headlights, however, they have the power to hit 326 kilometres an hour: the fastest factory-issued Maserati sedans ever. They represent the ultra-modern fulfilment of the brand’s racing promise, which in the 1960’s came up with the concept of a sporty luxury sedan model. Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeo represent a further evolution of the sedan, destiny’s children sporting carbon-fibre inserts. And they are also immune to kryptonite.
The possible uses of game technology and virtual reality applications are manifold in the automotive sector. The BMW Group, the first automotive company together with Epic Games to define and structure an enterprise licence for the industrial use of Unreal Engine, designed a self-developed mixed reality system. This is consistently used and expanded in vehicle development. The BMW iX is the first car that has been developed using the game engine we modified for our purposes. BMW’s use of Unreal Engine is invaluable, especially in the strategic innovation fields. You can very quickly create 3D renderings, for example, that take account of light effects and light reflections on different materials, among other things. But most importantly, it allows the functional and user experience to be brought to life and implemented in real time at a very early development stage. These advantages led to the early development of the technology into a global platform.
Electric mobility is becoming dynamic and fascinating, as Audi is proving with the e-tron GT. The four-door coupé reinterprets the classic idea of the gran turismo: Its design is highly emotive, its technology is exhilarating. Two powerful electric motors provide dynamic driving performance and confident electric all-wheel drive. With its net energy content of 84 kWh, the high-voltage battery enables ranges of up to 488 km (303.2 mi) and can be recharged extremely quickly, thanks to its 800 V technology. Suspension, lights, controls, connection, or e-tron sport sound: The Audi e-tron GT quattro and RS e-tron GT kicked off their presales simultaneously in mid-February 2021. Both models demonstrate accumulated technical expertise – and the Audi brand’s strong passion for minute details.
