Hyundai today unveiled its highly anticipated Santa Cruz Sport Adventure Vehicle. The 2022 Santa Cruz breaks new ground within the SUV, Truck and Crossover segments by offering a true Sport Adventure Vehicle unlike anything else in the U.S. market. New Jeep® Wrangler 4xe drive combines electric motors and a turbocharged gasoline engine
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe drive integrates two electric motors and a 400-volt battery with an efficient turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine and TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. This configuration maximizes the efficiency of the hybrid drive components and combines them with the Wrangler's world-renowned and proven powertrain. The Wrangler generates its system output of 280 kW (375 hp) and its torque of 637 Newton meters (according to US homologation) 4xe from the components: 2. 0 Four-cylinder in-line gasoline engine T-GDI Engine-mounted high-voltage engine/generator High-voltage engine/generator integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission (ZF 8P75PH) Lithium-ion, nickel-manganese-cobalt battery pack with 400 volts, 17 kWh capacity and 96 cells The 2.0 turbocharged T-GDI engine is part of FCA's Global Medium Engine family. The state-of-the-art direct-injection gasoline engine uses a low inertia twin scroll turbocharger mounted directly on the cylinder head, together with a cooling water circuit for the turbocharger, intake air and throttle body. At the front of the engine, a liquid-cooled high-voltage engine-generator unit replaces the conventional alternator and starter simultaneously. A belt connects the engine-generator to the engine's crankshaft pulley. The engine-generator rotates the crankshaft for virtually seamless, fuel-saving start-stop operation and generates charging current for the high-voltage battery. For the operation of electrical accessories, the Wrangler 4xe is equipped with a 12-volt on-board battery.
With a brand-typical performance characteristics with sovereign noiselessness and exemplary efficiency, the drive system of the new BMW iX3 ensures fascinating and locally emission-free driving pleasure. The purely electrically powered SAV is the first model to use the latest, now fifth, generation of BMW eDrive technology. It comprises an electric motor developed in-house by the BMW Group, the power electronics, particularly advanced charging technology and a model-specific high-voltage battery. The BMW iX3 is thus the pioneer for the latest development stage of electric drive systems within the BMW Group. The fifth generation of BMW eDrive technology is highly scalable and can therefore be used in different vehicle concepts - initially in the BMW iX and BMW i4 and soon also in electrified models from other series.
Its 471 kW four-litre biturbo V8 provides the basis for superb driving characteristics. With 67 kW (90 PS) more than the Cayenne Turbo Coupé and maximum torque of 850 Nm (an increase of 80 Nm), the 0-100 km/h sprint is reduced to 3.3 seconds (0.6 s less) and top speed is now 300 km/h (an increase of 14 km/h). With even sportier lines and available exclusively as a four-seater Coupé, the Cayenne Turbo GT comes with all available chassis systems fitted as standard and performance tyres developed specially for this model. The powertrain and chassis also have a unique set-up specifically tuned for the Cayenne Turbo GT. The result is a harmonious overall concept with superb racetrack capability. This has been proven by Porsche test driver Lars Kern, who lapped the 20.832 km Nürburgring Nordschleife with the Cayenne Turbo GT in a time of 7:38.9 minutes, setting a new official SUV record.
