With the new Fiat Grande Panda, FIAT emphasizes its sustainability strategy. Components for the interior are manufactured using recycled materials and bamboo fiber textiles. Lapolen Ecotek is a composite material made from aluminum and plastic components of discarded beverage cartons, among other things. This way, around 20 percent of the containers that are not made of paper are also recycled. The interior of each Fiat Grande Panda incorporates the materials from about 140 beverage cartons. The Lapolen Ecotek used by FIAT can be recognized by its blue color. On closer inspection, the origin of the environmentally friendly material becomes clear: the aluminum content is noticeable by a slight glitter. Another milestone is the use of BAMBOX Bamboo Fiber Tex®. This textile material is made up of about one-third bamboo fibers, which give the fabric its typical natural look. FIAT uses BAMBOX Bamboo Fiber Tex® coverings on the dashboard of the Fiat Grande Panda LA PRIMA variant.
